What is a Body and Thigh Lift?
Body and thigh lifts are surgical techniques that are used to eliminate excess sagging skin from the body. Loose skin often develops due to significant weight loss, pregnancy, or the natural aging process. When it interferes with your comfort and your self-image, a body or thigh lift can help you restore a youthful, toned appearance.
How Much Does a Body and Thigh Lift Cost?
The cost of a body or thigh lift procedure can vary depending on the extent of treatment necessary to deliver a patient’s desired results. When you schedule a consultation with Dr. Go of Newport Plastic Surgery, he will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your specific cosmetic goals. Once this treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of treatment. We also offer financing through CareCredit® to make this and other treatments more affordable.
What is the Difference Between an Upper and Lower Body Lift?
Body lifts can be performed on the upper body, lower body, or both. The upper body lift targets the arms, axilla, and upper back regions. The lower body lift targets the abdomen, hips, thighs, lower back, and gluteal regions.
How to Get a Thigh Gap
The thigh gap is a popular cosmetic trait. Unfortunately, this is largely determined by genetics. In many cases, even strict diet and exercise habits cannot produce a thigh gap. However, if a patient strongly desires a thigh gap, it can often be achieved with liposuction and micro body sculpting and/or a thigh lift surgery, depending on the extent of loose skin and fat for each individual.
What is the Difference Between Inner and Outer Thigh Lifts?
Thigh lifts can be performed on either the inner thighs, outer thighs, or both. Inner thigh lifts focus on addressing the areas between the legs, and will be the technique used for a patient who would like to achieve a thigh gap. The outer thigh lift targets the outside of the leg and up to the hips.
How Are Body and Thigh Lifts Performed?
All body and thigh lift procedures are performed under general anesthesia to ensure the comfort and safety of the patient. During the procedure, Dr. Go will make incisions for liposuction in areas that will be either be hidden by clothing or concealed in the natural folds of the skin. After the liposuction is complete, excess skin will be removed, the extent of which will be determined by the amount of loose skin that needs to be removed. Next, the remaining skin and underlying tissue will be tightened and repositioned to produce the desired results. Then, the incisions are sutured and the treatment will be complete.
What is Recovery Like After a Body and Thigh Lift?
Both body and thigh lifts are typically outpatient surgeries, but occasionally will require an overnight stay after your treatment is completed depending the extent of surgery performed. You may need to take a few weeks off of work and other normal activities as you heal. During this time, you may experience some swelling, bruising, and varying discomfort, but these will fade within a few weeks.
