What is Eyelid Surgery?

Eyelid lift surgery, also called blepharoplasty, is a technique used to rejuvenate the eyes. Dr. Go has performed hundreds of blepharoplasty procedures and considers this to be one of his main specialties that he enjoys doing.  Over the years, the eyelids begin to lose volume and droop. These changes can affect both the upper and lower eyelids, producing an aged, tired, or frustrated appearance. In some cases, sagging eyelids can even interfere with your vision. At Newport Plastic Surgery, Dr. Go offers eyelid rejuvenation surgery to help patients address these concerns and refresh their appearance.

How Much Does Eyelid Surgery Cost?

The cost of an eyelid surgery can vary depending on the extent of treatment necessary to deliver a patient’s desired results. When you schedule a consultation with Dr. Go of Newport Plastic Surgery, he will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your specific cosmetic goals. Once this treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of treatment. We also offer financing through CareCredit® to make this and other treatments more affordable.

How is Eyelid Surgery Performed?

Eyelid lift surgery can be performed on either the upper eyelids, lower eyelids, or both. The procedure can be performed under local sedation or general anesthesia to ensure the safety and comfort of the patient. During the surgery, Dr. Go will make small incisions within the natural folds of the eyelids, where they will be virtually invisible. Through these incisions, he will remove excess skin and fat to rejuvenate the eyes. Occasionally a mid-face lift that elevates the cheek fat pads can additionally be performed through a lower eyelid incision if it is indicated for the patient.  Once the desired results are achieved, the incisions are closed and the treatment will be finished.

At Newport Plastic Surgery, Dr. Go takes pride in making eyelid lift surgeries one of his main areas of expertise that he enjoys doing. He has performed hundreds of these procedures over the years and is confident in achieving his patients’ goals in the safest and most effective manner possible.

What is the Recovery Like After Eyelid Surgery?

After eyelid surgery, it is common to experience mild swelling and bruising around the eyes. Patients may even experience blurred vision during their initial recovery. It is recommended that patients rest the eyes as much as possible within the first week of treatment.  After this point, patients should be able to return to most of their normal light activities.  Heavy exertion and exercise may be resumed a couple weeks later.
