Facial Implants in Irvine, CA

If you would like to achieve a stronger chin and a more defined jaw line, facial implants may be able to help. At Newport Plastic Surgery, we offer facial implants under the guidance of Dr. Go, a highly skilled plastic surgeon in Irvine, Costa Mesa, Newport Beach, and the surrounding cities of California.

What Are Facial Implants?

Facial implants are a way of enhancing facial shape and volume with long-lasting facial implants. Facial implants require surgery for placement, as they have to be affixed to the bone for secure and natural-looking results. Another less invasive option that some people may choose is to have dermal fillers and injectables or facial fat transfers over chin implants. These alternative treatments offer immediate facial volume enhancement without the surgery and downtime required of implants. However, facial implants can be ideal for patients with a weak or receding chin. Chin implants can produce a stronger jawline and a more balanced facial appearance, enhancing overall facial harmony.

How Much Do Facial Implants Cost?

The cost of facial implants can vary depending on the type of implant desired. When you schedule a consultation with Dr. Go of Newport Plastic Surgery, he will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your specific cosmetic goals. Once this treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of treatment. We also offer financing through CareCredit® to make this and other treatments more affordable.

What Are Chin Implants?

Chin implants are a permanent form of chin augmentation. These implants are made out of a variety of materials, including silicone and PTFE/ Gore-Tex.  At Newport Plastic Surgery, our goal is to have all of our chin implants offer noticeable results that will harmoniously balance the facial proportions and look completely natural.

How Are Chin Implants Inserted?

Chin augmentation surgery with chin implants is performed under local sedation or general anesthesia, and typically lasts for one to three hours. During the surgery, a small incision will be made under the chin, and a pocket will be created for the implant to be inserted. The incision usually results in a well-hidden scar. Once the implant is inserted, it may need to be trimmed or otherwise adjusted for an optimal fit over the bone. Once this is complete, the incision is closed and the treatment will be finished.

What is Recovery Like After Receiving Chin Implants?

After the surgery, you may feel discomfort and soreness for a few weeks. However, most patients are able to return to normal light activities within a week or two. It can take a few months for the chin to completely heal and all of the swelling to resolve, but the results will be noticeable right away.
