Spider veins are usually a harmless condition, but their appearance is often unwelcome. To help patients restore clear, smooth skin, Newport Plastic Surgery offers spider vein treatment with Dr. Go, one of the most sought-after plastic surgery physicians in Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Irvine, and the nearby areas of CA.
What Are Spider Veins?
Spider veins are small blood vessels that are visible from the skin’s surface. They usually appear on the legs and face, although they can develop in other places, too. Spider veins are usually harmless, but many patients choose to pursue treatment in order to eliminate their appearance and achieve clear skin. At Newport Plastic Surgery, we perform sclerotherapy with Asclera® for spider vein treatments.
How Much Does Spider Vein Treatment Cost?
The cost of spider vein treatment can vary depending on the extent of treatment necessary to deliver a patient’s desired results. When you schedule a consultation with Dr. Go of Newport Plastic Surgery, he will develop a personalized treatment plan based on your specific cosmetic goals. Once this treatment plan is developed, we will be able to provide you with the exact cost of treatment. We also offer financing through CareCredit® to make this and other treatments more affordable.
How Are Spider Vein Treatments Performed?
Sclerotherapy for spider vein treatment involves the injection of a sclerosant into the vein. The sclerosant we use is called Asclera®. Upon injection, Asclera® damages the blood vessel to cause a clot. Following treatment, the blood vessel will lose blood supply and eventually fade from view as it is absorbed by the body. Sclerotherapy takes less than an hour to perform, and injections are performed with the aid of a topical anesthetic to minimize any discomfort.
What is Recovery Like After Spider Vein Treatment?
After spider vein treatment, you may experience minor bruising or swelling in the treatment area. These effects typically fade within a day or two. Patients will be able to return to work and other normal activities immediately following their treatment. There is no downtime required, although patients are advised not to exercise for a few days after treatment.
What Kind of Results Can I Expect from Spider Vein Treatment?
Once your spider vein treatment is complete, the treated spider veins will gradually fade from view over the following days or weeks. For most patients, only one treatment is needed. In some cases, however, multiple treatments may be necessary to achieve optimal results.
