If you have very large breasts that are out of proportion with the rest of your body, you probably understand all too well the physical and emotional discomfort. A Breast Reduction surgery will transform your breasts into a more manageable, attractive size that are in proportion to the rest of your body. You’ll be healthier, happier, and your clothes will fit better too.
Am I a candidate for Breast Reduction surgery?
If you are in good general health, do not smoke, have realistic expectations about your results, and are not planning to breastfeed in the future, you may be a candidate for breast reduction surgery.
Procedure
Performed under general anesthesia, Breast Reduction surgery lasts from two to four hours. Dr. Goshtasby will make incisions in locations that will minimize any visual scarring, remove excess breast tissue, fat, and skin. Next, he will relocate the nipples and areolas to their natural positions, reshape the breasts and close the incisions.
Recovery
You may feel discomfort for several days following surgery, which will diminish over the next several weeks. Dr. Goshtasby will remove your stitches after about a week, and you should be able to resume your normal activities after two to three weeks.
Dr. Goshtasby will be happy to personally consult with you regarding your treatment options.
