Facelift

A facelift procedure can restore many of the dreaded signs of aging that appear after we reach the age of 40: sagging skin, deep creases, fatty deposits in the face and neck. A facelift provides the most dramatic and long-lasting improvements of the cosmetic procedures.

In addition, a facelift can also make dramatic improvements to the following conditions:

  • Deep creases under the eyes or between the nose and corners of the mouth
  • Double chin
  • Jowls
  • Sagging facial skin
  • Sagging or out-of-place fat

Often performed in conjunction with other procedures to provide greater rejuvenation to face and neck, a facelift procedure can be combined with a brow lift, blepharoplasty/eyelid surgery, facial fillers, and chemical peels.

The Procedure
For a traditional facelift, Dr. Goshtasby will make an incision under the hairline at the temples, around the ear to the lower scalp to minimize visible scarring. Any scarring will be hidden beneath your hair and in the natural creases of your face and ears. After he sculpts and redistributes the fat, muscles, he will redrape the skin, trimming the excess. After the incisions are closed, he dresses the wounds with sterile bandages.

Recovery
It is natural to experience some bruising and swelling after a surgical procedure. These will subside with a week or two, and the scars will continue to fade over the next several weeks.

Dr. Goshtasby will be happy to consult with you personally to explore your options to achieve your desired results.
